The College of Occupational Therapists' Library is the national collection of occupational therapy literature in the UK

High quality library and information services for all members across the United Kingdom.
This unique specialist collection of materials and resources exists to support the work and study of BAOT members.
The collection is constantly being added to.
Please check the Library Catalogue and the Journal / eJournal and ebook sections for new additions.

Search the CINAHL and Medline databases

We are pleased to announce that COT members can now search the CINAHL and Medline databases through the EBSCOHOST platform, via the COT website.

References and full text results delivered include those from the fields of:

  • allied health
  • consumer health
  • research instruments and clinical trials
  • health care system alternative/complementary medicine
  • nursing and medicine
  • pre-clinical sciences


Search the databases and access ejournal articles.

The information skills guide CINAHL and Medline: searching these databases through the EBSCOHOST platform should help you begin searching these databases.

Please note COT members need to be logged into the COT website with their email and self-selected password to search the databases.

The library opening hours are 9.30am - 5.00pm Monday to Friday.

Our friendly and approachable team of information specialists are available to help when you visit, telephone or email.

Visiting the library

We welcome visitors and enquiries from all members of the British Association of Occupational Therapists. Please bring your membership card when you visit the Library. Please help us by quoting your membership number in emails and phone calls.

Occupational therapists and OT students who are not members of BAOT/COT must join the BAOT before using the Library. The Membership Team can facilitate joining for prospective members visiting the COT.

Non-members who are not occupational therapists, but have an interest in occupational therapy, are welcome to visit the Library by appointment and on payment of a £10 access charge.

Library services for members with disabilities

The Library provides enhanced access to members with disabilities, including Jaws software to assist users with visual impairment.
