COTEC releases preliminary programme - Occupation Diversity for the Future 2012

The prelinary programme for the 9th COTEC Congress for Occuaptional Therapy is now available and includes more than 600 papers from all over the world. Occupation Diversity for the Future (24-27 May 2012, Stockholm) will provide a forum for the sharing of ideas, presentation of research, development and pedagogical projects, and discussion of professional issues relevant to the practice of occupational therapy.

Win a ticket to the COTEC-ENOTHE Congress 2016

In 2011 the Council of Occupational Therapists for the European Countries (COTEC) celebrates its 25th anniversary and, in 2012, COTEC will support the European Year of Active and Healthy Ageing. To bring both of these events togther COTEC is running a poster competition for all 27 member associations on the theme of 'OT and Active and Healthy Ageing'. All members of the 27 COTEC member associations are eligible to submit a poster to the competition. The UK will be choosing one poster to go forward.

Occupational therapy is an internationally recognised profession

The British Association of Occupational Therapists (BAOT) is a member of the World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT). The WFOT is the only international representative for occupational therapists and occupational therapy around the world. It is also the official international organisation for the promotion of occupational therapy.

ENOTHE supports the introduction of occupational therapy education into new members of the Europe Union

The European Network for Occupational Therapists in Higher Education (ENOTHE)  develops and harmonises the standards in existing occupational therapy programmes. The Council of Occupational Therapists for the European Countries (COTEC) initiated the European Network for Occupational Therapists in Higher Education (ENOTHE) in 1995. Individual education establishments join the network and the College’s Education and Learning Department is an active participant.

COTEC is the European organisation for all occupational therapists through their National Associations, with the purpose of promoting and supporting the mobility of individuals within Europe and increasing visibility of the profession. COTEC was established in 1986 with the purpose of co-ordinating the views of the National Associations of Occupational Therapy within Europe.
