In-patient care has seen many positive advances in service delivery in recent years. We are all familiar with the National Standards Framework and the Guidelines for Inpatient Care. Implementing them is however improved by sharing knowledge and experience. There is also considerable current debate about OTs becoming more generic in their role. How to effectively involve service users in service planning and review has also become part of our practice.
To stay at the forefront of these changes and developments requires regular updating. The College of Occupational Therapists Specialist Section – Mental Health offers a wealth of information exchange specifically for OTs working in mental health. With a specialist in-patient subsection there is opportunity for this information exchange to take place.
