There are currently 11 Children, Young People and Families Regional Groups across the UK. Each group represents Occupational Therapists working with children, young people and families in all settings at a local level.
Regional groups aim to provide support and information through a number of ways, including meetings and training/study events. It is recognised that groups will vary in size, both in membership numbers and geographical area. Each group has a Regional Representative who acts as a link between their regional members and the Specialist Section NEC. Regional Representatives link directly with the NEC Regional Group Co-ordinator who in terrn oversees all regional activity across the UK.
Regional groups should have their own regional committee who support the regional representative. These committees will include a chair person, treasurer, secretary, and if appropriate may include other post such as events organiser and website/publicity link. If you would like help or advice on forming a regional committee please contact the NEC Regional Groups Co-Ordinator for further information.
The NEC Regional Groups Co-Ordinator meets with Regional Representatives twice a year. These meetings are a forum for the dissemination of information about regional and national issues of interest to Children's, Young People and Families members and are an excellent opportunity for networking between regional groups.
