What is good about your occupational therapy course?
"The course, how I found the course. Well I suppose after
thinking about, considering OT as an option I looked at the
different courses that were available and because I'd already
done a three year degree some years ago I didn't really want
to do another three year degree. Also just being able to afford
to a three year degree again would be really difficult so
when I saw that this course was available, two years accelerated.
That was one of the big pulls for me and also because it is
fairly local to where I live. The stuff they mentioned about
self-directed learning was good although I have found in practice
it is actually harder than I expected. I think it is common
with what other students have found we could have done with
a bit more direction but it is quite empowering at the same
time. One thing we are beginning to that erm you tend to get
all your anxieties out the way when you are studying and hopefully
when we actually go into our first jobs we'll be more empowered
to find things out for ourselves rather than having to rely
on being told what to do. That's one of the the benefits of
it."
