Extract from an Interview with an Occupational Therapist, Crawley Hospital, West Sussex

Does occupational therapy offer teaching opportunities?

Quicktime

"Another reason why I became an occupational therapist was I was really interested in teaching but having seen occupational therapy it involves a lot of teaching because it involves teaching the patient to manage and to learn new skills in order to manage at home and it involves the wife/carer, who ever is involved and obviously we have students on placement at work. So obviously it is rewarding to pass on your knowledge and expertise to those students. Recently I have been able to take on some lecturing at a local OT College as well. So that side has also satisfied my teaching desires as well."
