Many disabled children leave school without the skills they needto lead safe, independent lives. The Lifeskills Project is a curriculum-linked programme of lesson plans aimed at teaching children a range of life skills such as understanding cause and effect, taking turns when speaking, listening quietly and using doors and telephones properly. Over the past four years, the project has been used in over 30 special education needs’ environments. Hear some of the interesting findings that have emerged from using this teaching resource.
