Telecare is as much about the philosophy of dignity and independence as about equipment and services.
This workshop, which will be led by Jackie Pool, an OT with many years of experience in dementia care, will
familiarise OTs with the MyAmego telecare system. MyAmego provides technology and framework for its use
that promotes person-centred best practice in care services for people with physical and cognitive difficulties.

Learning outcomes

• Learn about a new and innovative telecare product
• Gain an insight into how the statutory principles of the Mental Capacity Act can be applied to practice
• Discuss a case study to understand how telecare can be used as assistive technology for a person with dementia
