Is there funding available to assist with my learning costs for short courses and/or formal educational programmes?
The College administers a range of awards and grants, totalling circa £32K pa, to support BAOT members in their education, research and continuing professional development. It is well worth visiting this section on the website to learn more about what is available – it is sometimes an ‘untapped resource'.
In addition to the funding opportunities available through COT, there are a number of funding agencies across the UK that may have what you are looking for. A list of possible funding sources can be found in the members' section of this page, which provides funding links organised by country.
Funding for Research
The Research and Development officers make every attempt to flag external research funding opportunities for members and associate members via Occupational Therapy News and on the Research page of the COT website.
(Please note that the employer is always a possible source of funding for your education and development. Don't be afraid to ask!)
