Meeting members' needs and championing the profession

Our new Strategic Plan for the period October 2008 to September 2013 has taken us eighteen months to formulate and, during this time, we have been consulting you, our members, to take on board your wishes, ensuring that we are truly a member-led organisation. We would like to thank all of you who took the time to contribute.

We feel passionate about ensuring that occupational therapy remains innovative and at the cutting-edge of health and social care delivery, and that our graduates of today become the leaders of tomorrow, delivering services that will improve the health and wellbeing of the UK population. The new Strategic Plan will help us to remain focussed on our strategic aims and concentrate our resources on activities that only we, the professional body, can do.

We all need to play a role in achieving the aims detailed in the Strategic Plan. We urge all of you, our members, to join us as active ambassadors for the profession, championing the value of occupational therapy and its unique contribution to the health and wellbeing of the population in promoting self-reliance and resourcefulness.
