The Challenge
Obtaining vocational rehabilitation for those with significant mental health is challenging enough as an OT, let alone following a UK wide lockdown due to COVID. Many businesses are still reluctant to offer work based experience...... however.....
The Change
Thank you to Heidi Harrison Price (Derbyshires Carnfield Hall) I have been able to join forces & create a pilot project where my service users are currently participating in a 6 week Llama therapy and Self Awareness program!
The Impact
This has encouraged regular community participation, increased motivation and self esteem. Service users have increased their knowledge in animal care and reflected on how their own body language & anxiety can impact interactions with others.
