The Challenge
We were unable to visit a lady to assess the steps at her home due to covid 19 restrictions. She was housebound and not even able to sit on her patio to enjoy the sun, due to several steps.
The Change
We changed the usual order of the OT process, and asked the technical officer to send us photos and identify technical options. This was followed up with a phone call to the lady and we agreed to provide just a small ramp to her patio at this time.
The Impact
We were able to progress these adaptations during covid-19 restrictions, and the impact will be significant for this lady’s well-being, as the timescale has been shortened such that this will be completed during the summer time for her.
