The Challenge
To help patients on acute medical and frailty wards stay connected to their relatives and loved ones when visitation was stopped due to covid-19.
The Change
Facilitating Zoom and FaceTime video calls on the wards during therapy sessions to:
1. Enable conversation
2. Demonstrate equipment use
3. Virtually walk around someone’s home
4. Help encourage confused patients in with familiar faces and voices
The Impact
Emotive and powerful. One relative said: Thank you so much for setting up face time with my mum. It’s the only time I get to talk to her and see her face”
