The Challenge
Due to Covid-19, engagement in valued community occupations are currently restricted, leaving patients on our mental health inpatient ward being deprived of some of their meaningful occupations.
The Change
As part of an occupational therapy intervention, a patient who was previously a DJ in the community now DJs twice a week on the ward using their own playlists whilst taking song requests from patients and staff too.
The Impact
This intervention has enabled this individual to engage in their valued role of a DJ and has enabled patients and staff to share their love of music together as well as dance together (whilst socially distancing).
