The Challenge
Due to Covid-19 there was a problem with staff shortage due to self-isolation guidance. Additionally, care took longer in our private nursing home due to PPE.
The Change
Our therapy team (myself, therapy assistant and physiotherapist) immediately jumped onto care tasks with our care assistants to help out alongside our daily therapy duties.
The Impact
Our residents were well looked after and our staff felt more supported during a time of stress. It has helped prevent burnout and encouraged motivation despite the difficulties with our residents, who have complex needs, all being stuck at home.
