The Challenge
Mrs X has learning disabilities and serious shoulder damage, significantly limiting her function. She works as a cleaner despite not being able to safely push a hoover currently. She has pain and difficulty when bathing.
The Change
A functional assessment was carried out to identify participation goals and provide evidence so Mrs X can get the right support. I advocated for Mrs X to get PIP while she waited for shoulder treatment and provided a bath board and grab rail.
The Impact
Mrs X has been referred to orthopaedics and has PIP so she can rest her shoulder until she gets treatment. She is now able to bath independently and safely and will be supported with finding more appropriate work.
