The Challenge
An individual presented to our homeless day centre after receiving an eviction notice due to rent arrears. She was highly distressed and hopeless for the future knowing this would also end her current employment, which she really enjoys.
The Change
I supported her with making an application for a housing payment to the local council. I also referred her to a local Law Clinic for legal support. I discussed her current outgoings and what she will need to do to repay her arrears.
The Impact
The individual was successful in her housing application and has been able to avoid eviction. She now has a monthly budget in place and through her hard work, has been promoted at work. She feels empowered to continue to rebuild her life.
