The Challenge
A client was having difficulty with lifting his legs in and out of the bath secondary to COPD, oedema and arthritis. He was very independent and had experienced a few falls while trying to get into the bath. His wife was unable to assist him.
The Change
With consideration of his physical health conditions, I recommended for, and got his bath adapted to a level access shower.
The Impact
The client was able to regain his independence and dignity when completing personal care. Having the level access shower minimised the risk of falls in the bathroom and level of assistance from his wife. He was able to remain in the accommodation.
