The Challenge
To increase service user involvement in the running of an inpatient mental health ward, in order to facilitate meaningful occupation.
The Change
The Occupational Therapy team facilitated a meeting with service users on the ward to get their ideas and suggestions.
The Impact
One service user suggested having animal therapy, which was arranged by an Occupational Therapy Assistant. These sessions are now being offered regularly and have had a positive impact on service users wellbeing.
