Delivering the best care

Specialist Occupational Therapist
Kim Pearce
The Challenge
A patient was having distressing hallucinations, and was constantly anxious and ruminating on past traumas. She became so bad that she was unable to engage in any meaningful occupations; art and socialising, the things she previously enjoyed.
The Change
She had never been supported by occupational therapy, although had been in the service some years. I was able to educate her about her diagnoses and provide reassurance about her abilities, while also teaching her new coping strategies and skills.
The Impact
She now has a better understanding of her symptoms and the new skills and strategies have given her the confidence to begin new crafting hobbies and attend church again.
