The Challenge
Laura has chronic pain as a result of her spinal cord injury and mainly mobilises in her wheelchair. She is thrilled that she has become a mum and looked to her social services occupational therapist for support in fulfilling her parenting roles.
The Change
We provided Laura with a height adjustable changing table and signposted her to a charity who were able to adapt her baby's cot, making it wheelchair accessable. We worked closely with the technician to make the specifications perfect for her needs.
The Impact
Laura is able to change her baby and facilitate cot transfers from the comfort of her wheelchair. She is over the moon to be able to fulfill these parenting tasks without support and she is enjoying bonding with her baby!
