The Challenge
When the person I worked with socialised with peers it consisted of taking drugs, engaging in crime, being sentenced to serve time in prison. She then developed a mental illness.
The Change
After a period in hospital, Occupational Therapy worked with the person to develop meaningful and purposeful occupations within the community.
The Impact
The person now engages in a range of occupations in the community - they go trampolining, to the cinema, gets their haircut and goes shopping, among others. They've realised these things can benefit their health and well-being.
