The Challenge
Working with Mark who had been in services for 20 years I.e. prisons, high secure forensics and now step down rehabilitation. He struggled to distinguish his anxieties from his psychosis and paranoia and thought he was relapsing which frightened him.
The Change
Worked closely with Mark, giving lots of praise and encouragement. Discussed parts of his life, reflected with him about behaviours and assured him that it was usual for people to feel anxious about change or new environments and challenges.
The Impact
For the first time in Mark’s life he has completed a school paper, passed an exam and feels like he can contribute back. He is currently half way through his first year in landscaping with a local college, and is making new friends.
