Call for abstracts
"So, tell me about your research" is one of the questions most researchers dread. Where do you begin? The ability to talk about your research in a way that is succinct and engaging is a key skill for researchers to develop.
In collaboration with the OT Doctoral Network, this networking event at the RCOT 2019 Annual Conference is designed to challenge doctoral researchers to think creatively about how they talk about their research and how to make an impact in a short timeframe.
What's involved?
Informed by the 3 Minute Thesis Challenge (3MT) you will be given three minutes to present your research topic and its relevance to occupational therapy without using PowerPoint. You can be as creative as you like in communicating your message. You can talk, sing, dance, create a poem, or use props; whatever you feel will help you get your message across.
There will be two prizes for the best presentations: one awarded by a small panel of judges and another through an audience vote.
Taking part will help you to develop communication skills, engage the broader occupational therapy community with your research and demonstrate that research can be fun (honestly!)
Who can take part?
The event is open to anyone attending conference but presenters must be in the process of studying for, or recently completed their doctorate within the last three years.
