Members now have until 5pm on Wednesday 20 May 2020 to support our survey to help identify the priorities for future occupational therapy research in the UK. The closing date has been extended due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
We are now asking members to share the survey on social media, by email and in virtual occupational therapy sessions to encourage colleagues and people who access their services and their carers/families to complete the survey. The survey is available online. It can also be downloaded from our website, completed electronically or by hand, and returned by email.
With our members’ help we hope that extending the closing date will enable more respondents to take part and will ensure that a wider variety of views are captured.
Dr Jo Watson, RCOT Assistant Director – Education and Research, shared:
“This agenda-setting work will help give people who access occupational therapy services, their carers and occupational therapists a louder voice in determining the direction of future occupational therapy research than is traditionally the case.
“As well as occupational therapists, we want to ensure that as many people accessing occupational therapy and their carers as possible take part. In line with social distancing measures, once members have completed the survey, we encourage them to share it by email and in virtual sessions to people accessing their services and their carers. Members can also share it on social media to reach colleagues and other health and care professionals. By taking part, respondents are helping us determine the direction of future occupational therapy research in the UK.”
