Professor Cox has worked in NHS practice for 15 years, and higher education for 20 years. She has had a long-term involvement with the Royal College, including sitting on the merit awards and UKOTRF panels, serving on the conference programme committee, and on the British Journal of Occupational Therapy editorial board (including as chair for the latter two roles). Diane is also a trustee of the Elizabeth Casson Trust, leading their evidence-based intention to support funding for occupational therapists.
As a professor of occupational therapy and director of research, Diane aims to frame the profession within policy, to influence decision-makers at a time of change, and to highlight the need for recruitment and retention in a time of workforce challenges.
Council wishes to congratulate Professor Cox on her election and to thank both candidates for their willingness to serve the membership.
