This webinar will explore the OT role in transition to home from neonatal care, it will build upon the topics covered in the foundation level course and further learning by discussing complex cases and problem solving around barriers to follow up. It will cover OTs role in repatriation and follow up as well as infant, parental and environment preparation for discharge from a neonatal unit. The webinar will also touch on the impact health inequalities have on families as they prepare to bring a neonate home.
Learning objectives:
To understand the role of OT in transition to home, be able to discuss discharge planning with families, and use a problem-solving approach for more complex cases.
To be aware of the impact health inequalities can have on neonatal families throughout their neonatal journey including the transition to home.
To have an awareness of the recommended follow up for high-risk infants, understand the role of OT in identifying at risk infants and how to address some of the barriers to follow up.
