Masterclass: Role of occupational therapy in NICU and in early intervention with high risk infants
This Masterclass will give delegates an understanding of the problems of preterm infants and examine the unique role of occupational therapists working in Neonatal Intensive Care Units or in services for high risk babies and young infants in the community. Occupational therapists currently working in children's services in acute or community settings who have a have a working knowledge of child development will find this a valuable CPD event.
Introducing Preceptorship: A one day workshop for Occupational Therapists
Dr. Mary Morley who developed the preceptorship programme and handbook, will facilitate the workshop.
The aims are to prepare staff to undertake the preceptorship process and record evidence of learning for KSF/CPD and HPC.
It explores techniques to facilitate the successful transition from student to practitioner and signposts practitioners to Flying Start learning materials. The content of the day will be of particular interest to current band 5 clinicians and supervisors delivering preceptorship schemes.
Masterclass in the Model of Human Occupation Screening Tool (MOHOST)
The Model of Human Occupation Screening Tool (MOHOST) is now well-established, having been approved for inclusion in NHS Electronic Health Records.
Research has shown that occupational therapists can use it reliably and that the tool provides a valid measure of occupational participation, with each of its six subsections being able to discriminate between people who have a range of difficulties.

Making Sense of the Muddle - Understanding the Dysexecutive Syndrome

This can have profound consequences on their activities, their mood and interpersonal relationships. This one day intermediate level course focuses on the dysexecutive consequences of brain injury and practical interventions for managing these.

Personalisation, Risk and Safeguarding Adults: The Legal Implications (A Michael Mandelstam Course)

Masterclass: Occupational Therapy following brain injury in childhood
