The College administers a range of annual awards providing financial support towards BAOT members’ education, research and continuing professional development.
Applications are now invited for the 2011 funding round The 2011 awards provide support towards activities taking place in the calendar year 1 January to 31 December 2011. All applicants must be BAOT members at the time of applying.

Innovation Award Launched in 2008, this award provides support towards an innovative or developmental project aimed at supporting the future of the profession and professional priorities. Sum available for disbursement: £2,000

Travel Award Supporting members’ active participation in an overseas activity, such as presenting at an international conference. Sum available for disbursement: £1,000

Institute of Social Psychiatry (ISP) Award Provides support for an individual occupational therapist towards a research activity in a topic relevant to occupational therapy and mental health, which also demonstrates relevance to the field of social psychiatry. Sum available for disbursement: £1,000

ROMPA Quality of Life Award Provides support towards an activity that leads to an improvement in the quality of life for people of all ages with special needs. Sum available for disbursement: £800 cash and £500 ROMPA equipment vouchers

Speechmark Bursary Provides support towards participation in a project/research activity or visit outside the applicant’s country or work, including pre-registration student elective placements. Activities that are of direct benefit to people in underprivileged circumstances are particularly favoured. Sum available for disbursement: £750

Student Award Provides support towards a pre-registration student activity, including projects and overseas placements, with a focus on the relevance of the activity to the development of occupational therapy and benefit to service users. Sum available for disbursement: £1,000

Submission date The closing date for applications is 5.00pm on Friday 10 December 2010. All applicants will be notified of the outcome by the beginning of March 2011.
